Fraud and Spam Follow Swine Flu

Worries about swine flu are growing globally and, as expected, e-mail fraudsters and spammers are using this uncertainty to try and make money. One email offers “Swine Flu Survival Guide” for $19.95, “Salma Hayek caught swine flu!” warns another e-mail. Numerous flu-related domain names have been registered during the past week.

No malware related to the flu has appeared yet, but based on previous pandemic-like outbreaks, those are also expected. At any rate, if you receive an email trying to sell you something relating to the flu, the right thing to do is to not fall for the trap and ignore it.
